Just Friends Chili

This meal is friendly with pretty much every diet, ever.  It's pretty cheap, and makes a lot of food (leftovers) and tastes good no matter how many times you heat it up.

large Onion (chopped)
1tbsp canola or olive or macadamia nut oil
1-2lb ground meat or thin sliced steak
1 can chicken broth
2 cans fire roasted tomatoes (skip the kind "with garlic." minimal taste difference, smells terrible)
1 can black beans
1 can garbanzo beans
1 can dark red kidney beans
1 can pinto beans
2 Tbsp Cinnamon
liberal amounts of chili powder

salt
pepper
sriracha (optional, for spice not flavor)

Note: If you don't want to create a small landfill worth of cans, a bag or to of 20bean soup mix beans works well here.  I just happened to have a ton of cans in the pantry when i was writing this recipe.  Plus i use cans because they're quick and easy to grab without having to worry about soaking beans over night.

'Nother note: For this job i prefer my 12" shallow lidded pot (I'm sure it has a fancy french name)

1. heat oil in the pan
2. add chopped onions, cook until translucent, not burnt
3. add ground meat, chop and toss with the onions until all the meat is brown
4. be ready with the chicken broth, sprinkle meat with chili powder and mix in, as soon as it's all mixed up, throw in the broth to create a yummy dark red base.
5. now we add the cinnamon. stir.
6. add two cans of tomatoes
7. add one bean
8. two bean
9. three bean
10. four  (or whole assembly of beans you've been soaking for 8-12 hours)
11. mix well, bring to a boil, lower heat to med-high, cover.
12. watch your favorite TV show, work out, or make love.  whatever activity 20-25 mins allots.
13. remove lid, add salt and pepper to taste. let boil uncovered 5-10 mins.
14 Dinner TIME!  Serve.
*add sriracha for spice (careful, it's hot!!) a few dots per bowl will get you MEDIUM.
